Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a day of lovers, celebrated on 14th February every year. This day is also called St. Valentine's Day. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards.

The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. Their are many stories associated behind this day but no one know the actually knows the story behind this day. Some believe he was a saint who helped young lovers in getting married secretly,

so the other story says that Valentine actually sent the first "valentine" greeting himself it is believed that While in prison, Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailer's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed "From your Valentine," an expression that is still in use today.

 Other story  says  that  some  believe  hat Valentine's  Day  is  celebrated  in  the  middle  of   February  to  commemorate  the    anniversary  of   Valentine's  death  or   burial  —  which  probably   occurred around  270 A.D — others  claim  that  the  Christian  church may have decided to celebrate Valentine's feast day in the middle of  February in an effort to "christianize"celebrations  of   the  pagan  Lupercalia   festival.  Valentines Day is  one  of  the  most  popular celebrations across the world. The reason is fairly simple.
